About

Hi, I’m Kimberlee — chronic illness warrior, content creator, writer, spoonie, and professional overachiever currently powered by spite, heating pads, and Dr Pepper.

Livin’ in a Flare was created for the people trying to survive life in bodies that don’t always cooperate.

This space is for the exhausted.
The overwhelmed.
The chronically ill.
The people grieving the life they thought they’d have while still trying to build one they love.

Here, we talk about the real stuff:
chronic pain, flare days, medical gaslighting, emotional burnout, disability life, relationships, grief, humor, survival, and finding joy where we can.

Because chronic illness isn’t just symptoms and doctor appointments.
It affects every part of life.

But this isn’t just a place for struggle.
It’s also a place for honesty, laughter, rebellion, comfort, dark humor, healing, and community.

I believe we deserve spaces where we can be real about what this life actually looks like — without toxic positivity or pretending everything is inspirational all the time.

So whether you’re here because you’re newly diagnosed, deep in burnout, stuck in a flare, or just looking for people who get it…

Welcome.
You’re not alone here.
